I fell in love with the title screen from A Link to the Past a very long time ago. Since then I've attempted to draw the Zelda lettering on more occasions than can be counted. The block letter font is perfect and really cements the 'legend' aspect of the story.
I never took the time to admire the background in this scene until I turned it into a shadow box. Something about the mountains, tree line, and reflection in the water is so beautiful and really shows how much emotion can be captured with just a few pixels and a handful of color.
Fun fact - the original scene in the game was letterboxed but I wanted to expand the scene to capture more of the water and sky.
This glass-framed shadow box measures 10x12.5 inches and the viewport matches the 4:3 aspect ratio of the original scene. All of the images are printed on high-quality matte cardstock and laser cut for precision. The sprites are layered and raised to create a three-dimensional image that brings the scene to life. Pictures do not do it justice!
